Vein Access Technologies: STEM anatomy

See the video dissection of the AC region above.

This is an actual dissection of the antecubital region for STEM venipuncture - whether it is for a blood draw, an IV, an injection of contrast, a blood donation, a plasma donation, or a Factor VIII injection.

Pay attention to the detail:  the skin, the subcutaneous tissue, the position of the veins within those tissues, the actual vein itself, and the anatomical surgical landmarks for the field under consideration.

Cadaver Dissection - Antecubital Region

Venipuncture is an invasive procedure - a surgical procedure - and understanding the anatomy of the region is critical to performing the procedure correctly - without injury to surrounding structures.
